He has extensive expertise in various areas, including metallurgy, microscopy (optical and SEM), and mechanical testing. He is a lecturer in the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at the Technion.

Dr. Gary Muller

Dr. Gary Muller is a researcher and engineer at the Israel Metals Institute. He specializes as a development engineer in various 3D printing processes, including Binder Jetting Printing (BJP – ExOne M-Flex), Electron Beam Melting (EBM – Arcam A2X), and Laser-based 3D printing (SLM/SLS – EOS M290). With 7 years of experience in the field of 3D printing, Dr. Moller actively participates in national and international applied projects in the printing domain, with a focus on optimizing the printing process and product design, especially in biomedical applications (titanium implants) and space facilities (mirrors for satellites). Dr. Muller has more than 10 scientific publications in the field of 3D printing and has experience in teaching and training in this area.

Dr. Alexey Kovalevsky

Dr. Alexey Kovalevsky holds a PhD in machining. His first degree was in machining and metallurgy, the second degree in electrical-mechanical engineering, and the third degree in “welding related processes and technologies.” Since 2015, he has been working at the Institute of Metals in the casting processing department and assumed the position of head of the welding and laser welding department in 2019. Dr. Kovalevsky is a permanent member of the National Welding Committee in Israel and also a member of the Israeli Institute for Standardization in Technical Committee 5416 – Material Joining and Testing. In 2023, Dr. Kovalevsky received international recognition as an International Welding Engineer, the highest qualification in the field. He has scientific publications on the mentioned topics and is a regular participant in international conferences in his professional specialization.

Evgeny Strokin

Evgeny Strokin, Head of the Metal Printing Department at the Metals Institute, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, specializes in optimizing the printing process for various metals, optimizing printing parameters, and designing for printing. He serves as an instructor in the machining processes course for engineers and lectures in the Digitalization and 3D Printing course, conducting labs in 3D metal printing.
