Research & Development

The institute is active in a wide range of R&D projects, including projects funded directly by clients, international R&D projects, and projects funded by the Innovation Authority in various tracks.

Among the funding programs provided by the Innovation Authority are:

  1. The preparatory incentive program: In this program, an institute specialist serves as a technological consultant, providing guidance and expertise to companies in need of direction and focus in their R&D activities.

  2. MOFET – R&D in the Manufacturing Industry: This program is aimed at the manufacturing industry to promote technological innovation within factories. If the institute participates as a sub-contractor, covering at least 20% of the research budget, the industry is eligible for an additional 10% funding.

  3. Applied Research Program in Academia: In this program, the institute conducts research while an accompanying corporation serves as a professional advisor and sets the research goals. The corporation also participates in funding 10% of the project’s cost.

The institute offers research and development services in the fields of advanced material development, manufacturing technology development, and personalized technological solutions.

Research areas covered by the institute include:

  • Advanced Processes
  • 3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing)
  • Corrosion and Surface Technologies
  • Welding and Laser Technologies
